Documenting a global journey with Residente

By focusing on our differences we sometimes forget a fundamental truth: deep down, we’re all human. This idea inspired musician and artist Rene Perez, aka Residente, to take a DNA test and travel the world connecting with people and exploring his roots.

365 days later, Rene had traveled the world from China to Siberia, meeting with local communities and collaborating with local artists to record a new album inspired by the sounds of the world. A new brandmark and interactive experience evolved over time as we worked to document his global journey.

Both the visual identity and website feature an array of visual metaphors and unique interactions based on the idea of unity, connectedness and establishing a global family. Through the digital experience, users are invited to travel along with Rene, immersing themselves in video content, song clips and geographical stats from each region.
