Google - Gemini Developer Competition
Google's developer competition, designed to promote the new Gemini API, was a resounding success. We collaborated closely with Google from inception to execution, providing design, development, and strategic guidance to ensure strong momentum throughout the year. With over 3,000 AI-apps and video showcases generated from developers around the world and high engagement, the competition inspired the developer community to supercharge their projects in innovative ways with the Gemini API.
Launch!
We launched the competition during Google I/O 2024 on the main stage. Online, it was introduced by Christopher Lloyd and at the conference, the Grand Prize, a refurbished DeLorean, created buzz quickly. We even created a few demos to inspire developers, you can see that work here.
People's Choice Award
To maintain engagement after the competition closed, we introduced a People's Choice Award. With over 350,000 votes cast, participants enjoyed exploring and voting for their favorite projects.
Winners
As with the initial announcement, Christopher Lloyd helped us announce the winners! Not only were these apps impressive, many are now featured on Google's site as successful case studies of the Gemini API.
